Product Described: Variable Price Barcode Parser
Question:
We're running a deli setup where our scale prints barcodes with both PLU and embedded price. Our inventory is managed via Thrive Metrics, which connects to Clover. We need to know: if the PLU in the barcode matches a SKU in Thrive, will your Variable Price Barcode Parser app identify and correctly process the item through Clover using that SKU?
Answer:
At this time, we cannot confirm compatibility with Thrive Metrics.
The Variable Price Barcode Parser app functions independently of Thrive. For it to work correctly:
You must set up the variable price items directly in Clover's Inventory app.
The Product Code field in Clover must match the portion of the barcode coming from your deli scale (usually the PLU).
Transactions must be processed through the Clover Register app—that’s where our app reads and parses the variable price barcode.
If you're relying on Thrive to manage inventory or product linking, our app won’t be able to interact with or pull data from Thrive’s system. Integration would require direct mapping in Clover's native inventory.
If you'd like to test the setup, we recommend first creating a few sample items in Clover Inventory (not Thrive) with product codes matching your printed barcodes, and see if the Register app correctly pulls and prices them using our parser.
