Answer No—there is no practical limit on the number of inventory items in CorePOS. We've successfully tested and run CorePOS with 20,000+ items (20K) on the PAX A920 Pro handheld terminal, and it performed smoothly without issues.

CorePOS is designed as a flexible, scalable POS platform that handles large inventories efficiently, even on compact Android-based PAX devices like the A920 Pro, A920, Elys, or others. Key points:

  • Tested Performance: In real-world testing (including high-item counts with pictures, barcodes, dual pricing, modifiers, and EBT designations via Inventory Plus Plus), CorePOS remained responsive for quick lookups, searches, and checkout—even with 20K items loaded.
  • No Hard Cap: Unlike some locked-in POS systems that impose artificial limits, CorePOS has no documented maximum item count. Scalability depends more on hardware specs (e.g., A920 Pro's faster processor and RAM help with larger datasets) than software restrictions.
