I bought a CAS CL3000 from Amazon (or another retailer) thinking dual pricing labels were a built-in preset I could just select. I already have Clover set up with the Variable Price Barcode Parser. Dual pricing is not available as a standard label format, and I am past the return window. What do I do if I want CSI Works to add dual pricing to the scale I already own?

Answer

Dual pricing labels on the CAS CL3000 are not a factory preset and are not available from CAS, Amazon, or any other reseller. CSI Works researched and developed this label format in-house. It is only implemented on scales sold or configured by CSI Works.

If you still can return the scale you purchased elsewhere, the most economical path is to return it and buy the CL3000 from CSI Works. Dual pricing is included at no extra charge on scales purchased from us.

If you are past the return window and want to keep your current scale, CSI Works can implement dual pricing on that unit as a one-time service.

What the service includes

• Dual pricing label format installed on your existing CAS CL3000
• Card price percentage programmed to the rate you specify (for example, 3.5%)
• Label stock format set to the LST size you use
• Existing PLUs / items left in place (the scale is not reset unless you ask)
• Scale shipped back to you after configuration

Cost: $450 one-time fee, plus shipping both ways
Typical turnaround: 1–2 business days after the scale arrives

What we need from you before you ship

Provide these four items with the order or in the same email thread:

1. Confirmation that the one-time setup fee is paid
2. Card price percentage you want on the label (example: 3.5%)
3. Label type you will use:
   • LST 8010
   • LST 8020
   • LST 8040
4. A prepaid return shipping label so the scale can be sent back to your store after setup

You do not need to wipe the scale. If item data is already loaded, it stays on the scale.

If you plan to change PLU / database fields so the dual-price label prints correctly, send that question with the shipment. CSI Works will tell you which fields the dual-price format uses.

Include:

• The prepaid return label (from CSI Works back to your store)
• A note with your business name, contact phone, card-price %, and label type (LST 8010 / 8020 / 8040)
• Your order number for the Dual Pricing Label Setup Service

Pack the scale so the platter, pole (if equipped), and display are protected. Do not ship it powered on or with loose label rolls that can jam the printer in transit.

After CSI Works receives the scale

1. Dual pricing is installed on the unit.
2. The card surcharge / dual-price percentage you requested is applied.
3. The selected LST label format is set.
4. Existing items are left untouched unless you requested a reset.
5. The scale is shipped back using the return label you provided.

Plan around CSI Works travel or holiday blackout dates if they are noted in your order thread. If a departure date is coming up, ship early enough that setup and return can finish before that date.

Clover side (you can do this while the scale is in transit)

For labels to scan correctly when the scale returns:

• Keep Variable Price Barcode Parser installed if the barcode embeds price
• Set weighed items in Clover Inventory as Variable Price
• Match the scale PLU to the Clover Product Code field (not SKU)

Dual pricing on the label shows cash price and card price. The parser still reads the price-embedded barcode the same way it did before. The extra printed price is for customer-facing compliance / cash-discount display on the label itself.

Why buying the scale from CSI Works is usually cheaper

If the other seller’s return window is still open, returning that scale and purchasing from CSI Works is the lower-cost option.
