Both configurations supported—barcode format will determine the right app
Question
A butcher is setting up a Globe GSP30B scale to print barcoded labels for items sold by weight. Another merchant is considering the GSP30A, a slightly different configuration of the same model. Both use Clover POS and want to know: are these Globe scales compatible, and which barcode parser app is needed if they don’t know the barcode format?
Answer
Yes—both the Globe GSP30B and GSP30A models are compatible with Clover POS when used with one of the CSI Works barcode parser apps. These scales are designed to print barcodes containing either total price or total weight, and CSI Works offers apps for both formats.
To scan the labels directly into the Clover Register app and automatically populate the product and pricing, merchants simply need to use the correct CSI Works app:
Variable Price Barcode Parser – for price-embedded barcodes
Weight Embedded Barcode Parser – for weight-embedded barcodes
Both models are part of the same scale platform. The difference is in configuration and display, not barcode output.
Model | Configuration |
---|---|
GSP30B | Bench display |
GSP30A | Alternate config (e.g. with different housing or display style) |
GSP30A | Alternate config (e.g. with different housing or display style) |
Both models print labels the same way and are compatible with CSI Works apps.
Barcode Format | Use This CSI Works App |
---|---|
Barcode contains total price | Variable Price Barcode Parser |
Barcode contains total weight | Weight Embedded Barcode Parser |
That’s common—here’s how to find out:
Print a sample label from the Globe scale
Check whether the barcode includes the price or the weight
If you’re still unsure, just send us a picture of the label—we’ll help you identify the format
To ensure everything works smoothly at the register:
Define the item in Clover Inventory as Variable Price Type
Use the Product Code field (not SKU) to match the PLU used in the scale
Install the barcode parser app that matches your barcode type
Once done, scanning the label at checkout will automatically pull in the item and correct pricing.

These models are known for accuracy and reliability in meat departments, deli counters, and grocery stores. They make a great match for Clover POS when paired with CSI Works barcode parsing solutions.
