Software & Hardware Covered
CorePOS can run on a Pax device in two ways:
- Standalone — The Pax device handles the full POS functions (sales, inventory, barcode scanning, dual pricing, etc.) and payment acceptance (plus receipt printing on models that have a printer).
Payment terminal attachment — The Pax is connected to another POS (for example, a Sunmi) and primarily handles card payments.
Note: This guide covers the standalone use case only! If your Pax device is attached to a Sunmi POS (or another system) rather than used standalone, follow the separate attachment/integration instructions instead of the steps above.
Before You Install
- Confirm your Pax device is powered on, charged, and connected to Wi-Fi.
Open the App Market (also called Pax Store) on the device.
- If the App Market opens normally, your device is provisioned and ready.
- If you cannot open the App Market or you get an error, the device is not yet provisioned. Contact CSI Works support at 619-246-8236 (or email info@csiworks.net) for provisioning help.
Installation Steps (Standalone Pax)
- On your Pax device, open the App Market.
- Search for CorePOS (you can also search for “CSI Works”).
You will usually see two versions:
- CorePOS (production) — install this one
- CorePOS Sandbox — do not install the sandbox version for live use
- Tap Install on the production CorePOS app and wait for the download and installation to finish.
- Once installed, open the CorePOS app.
Create or Log In to Your CorePOS Account
After the app is installed, you need login credentials:
Once you have your username and password, log in on the device. This completes the basic setup.
Hardware Notes for Standalone Use
- Pax A920Pro — Full standalone POS: barcode scanning (front and rear cameras), receipt printing, and card payments.
- Pax A77 — Full standalone POS for software and payments + barcode scanning, but no built-in receipt printer. Use an external printer if you need paper receipts.
Both devices support the same CorePOS software features (dual pricing, inventory, taxes, tips, offline mode, App Market add-ons, etc.).
After Installation
- You can now process sales, accept payments, scan barcodes, and (on the A920Pro) print receipts.
- Additional features and apps (Inventory++, Variable Price Barcode Parser, Age Verification, Mix & Match, etc.) can be installed later from the same App Market or from within CorePOS.
- Payment processing is processor-agnostic. Depending on your setup you may also need a BroadPOS (or Magensa) payment app pushed to the device — contact CSI Works or your processor if payments are not yet active.
