Hardware: Sunmi devices (such as Sunmi D3 / D3 Pro and similar Android-based models)
On Sunmi, CorePOS runs as the main point-of-sale application. The Sunmi device handles computing, the checkout interface, receipt printing (built-in or external), scale connections, and barcode scanning.
Important difference from standalone Pax: A Sunmi setup requires a separate payment terminal. Supported payment terminals include Dejavoo (for example, P8) or Pax payment terminal devices. CorePOS is payment-processor agnostic, so you can use the terminal and processor that fits your needs.
Before You Install
Power on the Sunmi device and complete the initial Android setup if it is a new unit (language, Wi-Fi connection, PIN, etc.).
Confirm the device is connected to a stable internet connection (Wi-Fi).
Open the App Store (Sunmi App Store).
If the store opens and you can search, the device is ready.
If you run into activation or store access issues, contact CSI Works support at 619-246-8236 or info@csiworks.net.
Installation Steps
On the Sunmi device, open the App Store.
Search for CorePOS (or “CSI Works”).
Locate the CorePOS app and tap Install (or Open if it is already installed).
Wait for the installation to finish, then open the CorePOS app.
Create or Log In to Your CorePOS Account
After opening the app you will be prompted for login credentials:
Existing account: Enter your username and password and log in.
New merchant account: Choose the merchant account option, fill in your business information, and create the account. You will receive an email to verify. After verification you can log in.
A 30-day trial typically begins once the account is created. You can upgrade later from within the app (via the upgrade button or QR code).
Agents / ISOs: You can create a demo account directly from the app for demonstrations.
Logging in completes the basic CorePOS setup on the Sunmi.
Connecting Peripherals (Typical Sunmi Setup)
Receipt printer: Connect a Sunmi receipt printer (or compatible external printer) and configure it in CorePOS or the device settings. There are dedicated CSI Works videos showing printer connection on Sunmi D3 models.
Barcode scanner: USB or wireless scanners (such as Zebra) work with CorePOS. Some scanners (especially Zebra) may require a small companion “driver” app from CSI Works that you install from the same App Store and then pair/configure.
Scale: Supported scales (such as CAS PDN) can be connected and used with CorePOS for weight-based items and variable-price barcodes.
Payment Terminal (Required)
Because the Sunmi is used for computing and peripherals rather than as a standalone payment device, you must pair a payment terminal:
Dejavoo (commonly demonstrated with models such as the P8)
Pax (when used as an attached payment terminal rather than a full standalone POS)
After both the Sunmi (with CorePOS) and the payment terminal are powered on and on the same network (or properly connected), configure the payment settings inside CorePOS so the two devices communicate. Exact pairing steps can vary by terminal model and processor; CSI Works support can walk you through the specific configuration for your Dejavoo or Pax terminal.
After Installation
You can now ring sales, manage inventory, apply dual pricing, scan barcodes, weigh items, and print receipts.
Additional CSI Works apps (Inventory++, Variable Price Barcode Parser, Age Verification, etc.) can be installed later from the App Store or CorePOS App Market.
Payment acceptance happens on the attached Dejavoo or Pax terminal once it is properly linked.
Note: This guide is for Sunmi used as the main computing/POS station with a separate payment terminal. If you are using a Pax device as a full standalone POS (software + payments on the same device), refer to the separate Pax standalone installation guide.
