Setup In-Store Digital Coupon Program Conditions.

This screen is where the merchant sets up the coupon details, including triggers and redemption limits. Each option is explained below.
  1. On/Off Switch - Make sure the program is turned on.

  2. Offer Coupons To
    1. Anyone - This option doesn’t require assigning a customer; the coupon will print with any transaction as long as other conditions are met.

    2. Repeat Customers - This option requires customer assignment. Additional choices include:
      1. All Customers - Any transaction will trigger customer assignment, and every customer will be automatically invited to join the digital program.

      2. Selected Customers - Any transaction will trigger customer assignment, but only selected customers will be offered the benefits of the digital coupon program.

  3. Offer Coupons When
    1. Always - This setting means that a coupon will be offered to everyone, whether they are repeat customers or not.

    2. Number of Visits - This setting is similar to a punch card system. The number of visits is tracked based on customer assignment, and once the customer reaches the visit goal, the coupon is issued.

    3. Amount Spent - This setting is for merchants who want a spend-limit program. Instead of counting the number of visits, customers need to spend a certain amount to trigger the benefit coupon.

  4. Redeem Coupon for
    1. Entire Order - When a coupon is redeemed, it can be applied to individual items or to the entire order.

    2. Selected Items - Merchants can limit coupon redemption to selected items.

  5. Coupon Type
    1. % Off - This option allows a merchant to set up a coupon as a percentage off the total order or selected items.
    2. $ Off - This option allows a merchant to set up a coupon as a fixed amount off the total order or selected items.

  6. Coupon Value - Once the type is selected, the coupon value is expressed either as a dollar amount or a percentage.

  7. Coupon Expiration
    1. Never Expires - This option makes the coupon valid indefinitely until it is used.

    2. Expires - This option sets the number of days a coupon is valid from the date of issuance.

  8. Save - Once all the settings are configured, click "Save."

Checkout Experience & Customer Assignment Options

There are several options available for customer assignment, especially for merchants who sell age-restricted products.

Option One:  Assign Customer by Phone Number: This screen does not include age verification. Instead, a customer assignment screen will pop up, prompting the merchant to assign the customer.

1. Search By Phone Number - This option is the best because if the customer is not found, a new customer can be created using just the phone number, without needing to enter additional information.

2. Add a customer - This option is the customer intake form, which includes detailed fields for any needed customer attributes. It is ideal for merchants who want to collect specific information about their customers.

3. Find and select customer form a list -  This option is less efficient but still available. The merchant can scroll through the list and manually select the customer.

Option Two : Age Verification & Customer Assignment: This method combines age verification for age-restricted products with customer assignment for the digital coupon program. It reduces the number of clicks a merchant needs to perform during checkout.

There are three methods for conducting age verification with Cloud CRM. Here they are:

1. Scan Driver License: As shown in the picture, the cashier scans the back of the driver’s license or ID barcode. Note that this requires a Clover-compatible barcode scanner.
2. Returning Customer:
If customers have been previously age-verified by scanning their driver’s license, the clerk or cashier can find them by searching their phone number on their next visit.
3. Manual Verification:
This method offers a few options. The cashier can manually enter the customer’s date of birth, or they can visually authorize the customer. The visual authorization does not disclose the customer’s age but simply confirms age verification.

In any method, the result is the same: the customer is first age-verified and then assigned to the transaction for the digital coupon program.

Consumer Experience - Engaging the customer with benefits of the coupon.

The consumer experience begins once the customer is assigned to the transaction. After checkout, the receipt will feature a QR code that tracks the visit count and provides access to the coupon, either through the Guardoe consumer app or directly from the coupon. Merchants can control various settings related to this process.

When the customer scans the QR code with their mobile phone, they will be directed to the Guardoe consumer loyalty app. The link in the QR code also adds the referring store to their new or existing consumer loyalty account in Guardoe.

Upon registration, consumers will have an account with the merchant’s store added. The coupons and other discounts enabled in Cloud CRM will then be visible in the app.
