Understanding CAS Label Printing Scales

CAS offers a range of label printing scales, including the LP Series and the CL Series. Each series has different capabilities when it comes to labeling, connectivity, and price updates.

Can CAS label printing scales display both lbs and kg on the label?

No, CAS scales are region-specific when it comes to weight display. Canadian models show only kilograms (kg), while U.S. models display only pounds (lbs). There is no built-in option to print both units on the label simultaneously.

Can multiple CAS label printing scales be linked together for simultaneous price updates?

Only the CAS CL Series supports network connectivity, allowing multiple scales to be linked via Ethernet or Wi-Fi for centralized price updates. This enables merchants to update pricing on all connected scales at once, improving efficiency across multiple locations.

The CAS LP Series does not have network connectivity. Price updates must be performed manually on each individual scale or via a local USB connection to a computer.

Is there cross-platform compatibility between CAS and other label printing scales?

CAS scales do not have direct interoperability with other brands like DIGI. However, since all label printing scales generate barcode labels, they can be configured to print in the same format with the same PLU information. This means that with proper setup, different scale brands can produce consistent barcode labels that work within the same point-of-sale (POS) system.
