Product Described: CAS SW-RS Scale, Unit Tare App
I run a business that requires precise weight measurements, and I’ve noticed that when using the CAS SW-RS scale with Clover POS, I can only see two decimal places. However, when entering weight manually, I can input three decimal places. Why is this happening, and is there a way to get three decimal places when using the scale?
This difference is due to the way Clover POS integrates with the CAS SW-RS scale, the only scale that physically connects to Clover POS. The CAS SW-RS scale transmits weight data with a fixed precision of two decimal places, meaning that when it is connected to Clover, the system will always round weight to two digits after the decimal point (e.g., 1.25 lb instead of 1.253 lb).
However, when merchants manually enter weight instead of using a connected scale, they can input three decimal places or more without restriction. This means that businesses requiring highly precise weight measurements—such as for spices, fine ingredients, or scientific applications—may need to manually enter weight rather than rely on the scale’s automatic input.

If your business relies on three-decimal precision and you are using Clover POS, consider whether manual entry or an alternative solution would best meet your needs. Let us know if you need further guidance!
