Question
A butcher shop is installing a USA Measurements DL9000 scale and plans to use it for labeling items like ground beef and ribs before checkout on Clover POS. Another store is considering the DL9000S model from the same brand. The question they both have: will these models work with Clover, even if they’re unsure what kind of barcode the scale produces?
Answer
Yes—both the USA Measurements DL9000 and DL9000S scales are compatible with Clover POS when paired with one of CSI Works’ barcode parser apps. Whether the scale prints price-embedded or weight-embedded barcodes, CSI Works has you covered with:
Variable Price Barcode Parser (for barcodes that include total price)
Weight Embedded Barcode Parser (for barcodes that include total weight)
Both DL9000 and DL9000S function the same way when it comes to barcode generation. The only thing that matters is what the barcode contains. These scales can be configured to embed either the total price or the total weight into the barcode.
Barcode Format | Use This CSI Works App |
---|---|
Barcode contains total price | Variable Price Barcode Parser |
Barcode contains total weight | Weight Embedded Barcode Parser |
If you're unsure, just:
Print a sample label from the DL9000 or DL9000S.
Check if the barcode contains the price or the weight.
If it’s still unclear, send us a photo of the label and we’ll identify it for you.
To ensure a seamless scan-to-sale experience:
Set up your Clover inventory items as Variable Price Type
Use the Product Code field (not SKU) to match the PLU used in the scale
Install the appropriate CSI Works parser app once barcode format is known
Once configured, a single barcode scan pulls in the correct product and amount—automatically.
The DL9000 Series is widely used in grocery stores, meat shops, and international markets where pre-printed labels streamline operations. Dual-sided displays and label printing features make it an excellent fit for Clover-based environments when combined with CSI Works solutions.
