A retailer noticed that when customers purchased items belonging to two different promotions within the same order, the system only applied one discount and prompted them to choose which one to use. For example, if both promotional groups were part of separate “2 for X” or “multi-item” deals, only one of them was recognized.
Why does this happen, and how can the system be configured to allow both discounts to apply automatically?
Mix or Match includes a discount stacking setting that determines whether more than one discount can apply within the same transaction.
In this scenario, the app’s settings were configured to not allow discount stacking, which is why only one discount was recognized when multiple promotional groups were scanned together.
To enable multiple discounts to apply in the same order, simply adjust the discount stacking setting in the Mix or Match app.
When discount stacking is enabled, Mix or Match automatically applies all active promotions that meet their qualifying conditions, even when multiple discount groups are included in the same order.
This capability is essential for convenience stores, small groceries, and retailers who frequently run overlapping multi-item promotions across different product types.
